Jimmy Clitheroe

Jimmy Clitheroe was born Jimmy Clitheroe in the town of Clitheroe in 1921!.
His career spanned five decades from the 1930's until his death in June 1973.

Never growing taller than 4 feet 3 inches he spent most of his life playing the role of a 11 year old boy.

He starred in radio and television programmes, on the stage and even in films with other stars of the day such as Old Mother Riley, George Formby and Frank Randle

He owned a racehorse, a Blackpool Hotel and betting shops and was well known for being careful in money matters. He lived with his Mother all his life and was found unconscious on the morning of her funeral. He died later that day with a inquest verdict of accidental overdose.
